Starkness

There's something really cool about the Presidio and all the stonework around the city. The way that carved granite looks is terrific, not just because I'm from the granite state. So today I was experimenting around with exposure time, and am very very happy with the image I got. But first, something fun. I took a shot through the 25 cent telescope at the GGB rest stop. Pretty fun.



Was at the Presidio at a monument to soldiers lost in WWII. Thought of my ex's grandfather, who has written his own memories down of being in Fiji and other places in the South Pacific when he fought. It really makes it real, his account. Anyhow, I thought about our country today and took this:



And then got on a little "I could make a project here!" frenzy and took a bunch of letters. Here's one:

The way the extra drops pick up the light is fantastic. Great shot and the contrast really gives a feel of the coolness surrounding that water.
