Crome Architecture will feature my large-scale photography by San Francisco artist, Blake Tucker, beginning February 22, 2008. In the past three years, Blake’s work has been featured in over 40 shows, including the current display at the prestigious San Francisco Airport Museum. His striking, luminous and cinematic images twist the sense of scale, notice things unnoticed, and explore color, contrast and vitality. The works shown at Crome illustrate the artist’s current trajectory. Many of the pieces will be his unique, hand-crafted digitally manipulated photography presented on canvas media. “I love presenting photographs in the style of paintings,” says Blake. “There is often a sense of immediacy and attentiveness that is lost in layers of mattes, glass and frames.” Blake will also be debuting a one-of-a-kind piece at Crome, incorporating an unusual pressed-aluminum technique.
