Here's the second in this series. This one has amazing colors, with deep blue up top and golden hues down low.

Continuing my exploration of image development, I present you with this image, taken in the Presidio. Unfortunately, at this scale you can barely see that both the Farallons and the freighter are in the image. Which means you'll have to see this one printed!

And also makes me think, should I offer desktop images for purchase on my website? Thoughts?

Cumulus and Cirrus 2

On Sunday, April 19, I posted an image called "Cumulus and Cirrus 1." That image was developed for maximum dream quality: low contrast, warmer colors, less detail.

This is version 2, brought in the opposite direction. Cool, vibrant, strong. Over the next couple days I'll be showing exercises like this. I'd love to hear comments about which ones you like more and why.

Gull, Freighter, Tree and Sun

I love exploring the subtle colors of sunset, especially using filters and development to bring out the subtleties.

Light and Water

It's amazing how filters can help you pick up reflections and light. In this case, I'm excited about seeing the reflections off tiny droplets and seeing the underside of the leaf reflected in the pond.

Bubbles

Water is very interesting to photograph. With a slow shutter, you can get a gleaming rush of white. With fast, you can catch bubbles.

It was very warm this weekend and even the city got hot. When the city gets hot, the fog doesn't get a chance to stick around, and this kind of thing happens. It's one of the best things about living here.

I believe that true evil does not exist. It is an absolute black, and I don't believe in absolutes. The world is full of greys.

So logically, are there no whites? If evils are just gradients of selfishness, negligence, and stupidity, does that mean that trust, love and honor are just reverses of the same?
